The Mount View Boys and Girls basketball teams are off to a good start with records of 11 and 3 for both teams and hopes of bringing a gold ball back to the school. Great team efforts, coaches, and an energized crowd have all contributed to their success. With only a few games left of this basketball season, come show your support for both of the teams as they battle hard in hopes of doing good in the playoffs. Here is the schedule for the rest of the season. 

The boys’ team played Morse at Morse High School on Monday it was a back-and-forth game but the Mount View boys team pulled through with the win final score was 64- 53. Noah Hurd had 29 points, Ben Richards had 4 points, Ben Osborne had 7 points, Wyatt Bennett with 10 points, and Stuart Knowlton had 14 points. While the girls’ team played at home the scorers for them were Arianna Bradeen with 25 points, Savannah Lorenz with 20 points, Lily Parsons with 5 points, Madison Bennett with 3 points, Hannah Ferreia with 2 points, Carly Aitken with 2 points, Olivia Kirby with 2 points and Maggie Natalie with 2 Points thor final was 64-44 Mount View wins. 

On Tuesday the basketball teams played Erskine Academy. The boys’ team was home and the girls’ team was away. The boys’ team came out a little slow with the score being 14-11 after the first the boys came out hot in the second quarter jumping to a 45-28 lead at the half, they came out in the 3rd quarter even hotter making their lead even bigger with a score of 61-37 and with the final score being 75-41. Noah Hurd had 41 points, Wyatt Evensen and Wyatt Benett had 8 points, Aiden Davis 7 points, Ben Osborne 4 points, Stuart Knowlton and Ethan Cunningham 3 points, and Brandon Schanz 1 point. For the girls game it was neck and neck after the first quarter it was 15-14 second quarter 20-19 3rd quarter 38-31 and the final score was Mount View 49 Erskine 47. Arianna Bradeen with 21 points, Savannah Lorenz with 18 points, Lily Parsons and Emma Hurd with 4 points, and Madison Bennett with 2 points.

The wrestling team has been doing well. They traveled to Morse High School on January 28th in hopes of bringing back a title for the school. Riley Bryant placed 2nd in his weight class and Josiah Miller placed 3rd in his weight class at the KVAC championship! Overall the team placed 10th out of 22 teams in the KVAC! With only 3 tournaments left here is what their schedule looks like.
