This week MVHS Boys’ & Girls’ Basketball teams have 2 games. Medomak Valley on Tuesday and Belfast on Friday. Medomak Boys came to MVHS to take on the boys in what ended up being a close contest for the duration of all 4 quarters. The game started off with Senior Max Bottenfield having the hot hand and putting up 16 first-quarter points. Senior Tyler Russell was still putting up points and drawing fouls despite playing with a busted pinky on his shooting hand. The score going into half was 39-33 Mustangs. Junior Noah Hurd started to heat up in the second half as he drained a handful of threes and made a pair of clutch free throws at the end to seal the game for the Mustangs. The final score was 73-69 Mustangs, who have snapped a two-game losing streak and have split the season series 1-1 with Medomak. The Girls were on the road again on Tuesday as they made the trip down to Medomak Valley. The trip was not as prosperous as they had hoped it to be as they came away with a loss but it’s looking like they will get rid of this losing streak on Friday against Belfast.
