Softball and Baseball preseason starts this week at MVHS. Tuesday is the first set of games this week for the Mustangs as they face off against PCHS at 4pm. Later this week on Thursday both teams will go to Waterville to play a more familiar KVAC opponent. Some warm April weather is making for a good opening week as both teams try to start off strong and prepare for the long regular season. Baseball looks to build on a good run last season as I believe most of the team is returning from last year. Softball also has a good group of returning players that will hopefully be able to lead the team to a playoff run later in the year. Wins and losses in the preseason have no effect on the regular season standings, so this week is really just a time for coaches to refine their lineups and also for some younger players to get a taste of their first high school baseball experience.
